CHEDDAR-GARLIC SCONES
Makes 12-14 scones
Ingredients:
1 ¾ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
5 tablespoons cold butter cut into small cubes
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup buttermilk
Procedure:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Have an ungreased cookie/baking pan ready.
2. In a large bowl, mix with a fork: flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and garlic powder.
3. Using your fingertips, mix the butter through the flour mixture, handling the butter as little as possible.
4. Mix in the cheese.
5. Mix in the buttermilk.
6. Drop a heaping tablespoon of batter for each scone, onto baking pan.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 425 degrees, until golden brown.
8. Serve and enjoy!
